I was lucky enough to be able to purchase the original of these beautiful thought provoking work a good few years ago. It's now sitting in my living room in London town and reminds me of the mountains and soft rains of west Mayo where I grew up and also of the tough times that Ireland endured in 2008-2012 due to the Celtic Tiger banking collapse and that despite all of that hardship Ireland bounced back and hopefully this pandemic may have a silver lining in terms of people coming back to Mayo now that remote working is becoming the new normal. 5 Oct 2020
Brian McCarthy replied:
Thanks a million Patrick. I'm so glad it went to a 'good home'. Did I ever tell you it was used on a high-brow book cover? Here's the link: https://irelandafternama.wordpress.com/2013/09/13/new-book-spacing-ireland-place-society-and-culture-in-a-post-boom-era/ Talking of pandemic silver linings - as a result of having to shut my bread 'n' butter art classes, I'm free to focus exclusively on painting for a change. Stay safe!

Seems all of the amazing art pieces are ignored, but this is one of my favorites as it tells a gigantic story in one image. Amazing!
